From Ten Horse Farm, it is a quick trip to Georgia's premier bass-fishing location at Lake Seminole, only 10 minutes away. Launch a boat upriver on The Flint River, 1-1/2 miles away, to see the Upper Flint's primeval river banks and experience the beautiful nature and wildlife that riverboat passengers must have experienced over a century ago. (There are more sunken river boats in this section of the Flint River than anywhere else in the country.) If you like wide open public spaces, there is no better place to stretch out than at the Silver Lake Wildlife Management Area which is less than 10 minutes away and is an 8,397-acre tract of land that is open to the public for hunting, fishing, camping and outdoor recreation on the Flint River. Go hunting at Brentwood Plantation, only a mile away and Southwind Plantation or Pine Hill Plantation about 20 minutes away. Launch a boat down the Flint River thru Lake Seminole all the way to The Chattahoochee River and Apalachicola River. Visit historical Bainbridge, only one mile away where local restaurants specialize in Southern cooking. Attend the renowned Swamp Gravy Theater at Cotton Hall in Colquitt, 20 minutes to the North, and don’t miss the Birdsong Nature Preserve. Visit Pebble Hill Plantation in Thomasville, only 30 minutes East. Visit several historic sites in Tallahassee, FL such as the Goodwood Museum & Gardens and Mission San Luis, only 40 minutes to the South. Day trip to the Gulf Coast, only 1-1/2 hours to the South. We highly recommend Wakula Springs, FL and its Glass Bottom Boat and Wildlife Tours along the Wakula River. Also, St. Marks Wildlife Refuge and Apalachicola, FL where the best oysters in America are harvested. Or relax on the beautiful white beaches of the Florida Coast.
